Sunday School

“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.” Colossians 1:28

Sunday School

Heritage offers Sunday School classes for all ages, children and adults, on Sunday mornings at 9:00 throughout the school year.

The goal of the Sunday School Ministry at Heritage is to exalt God by developing a high view of Him, His Word, and His glorious work through Jesus Christ.  In addition, we desire to assist parents in biblically educating their children through the use of a God-centered curriculum that focuses on the Word of God.

Children Desiring God Curriculum

Heritage Christian Fellowship uses the Children Desiring God curriculum for our two-year-olds through sixth graders.  This God-centered curriculum helps children establish a biblical foundation of doctrine and truth and aims at teaching children who God is and who we are in relation to Him.  Beginning with our youngest children, students do an overview of the Old and New Testaments, covering every major Bible Story in a two year period.  Then in years following, children do a study on…

  • Redemption
  • The Greatness and Worth of God
  • The Promises of God
  • Redemptive History
  • Following Jesus
  • The Names and Character of God
  • The Providence of God

We are excited and privileged to teach these great and awesome truths to the children of Heritage.  We make every effort to teach the curriculum in a way that allows the church to "walk alongside" parents, enabling and equipping them, knowing that before God, parents, not churches, have the primary responsibility for the spiritual nurture of their children.

The Sunday School Ministry encompasses many areas of service according to each person’s gifting.

Areas of service are:

  • Teachers
  • Assistant Teachers
  • Administrators

Heritage also offers nursery care and classes for youth and adults during the Sunday School hour.

  • Nursery Care

Nursery Care is provided for our newborns through one-year-olds during the Sunday School hour. For more information, see the Nursery Ministry Link.

  • Youth

Sixth through twelfth graders attend the Jr. High/High School Sunday School class. In this class, students do an expository study through the Word of God.

  • Adults

All adults are welcome to attend the Adult Sunday School class in Fellowship Hall. This class goes through systematic and topical Bible Studies. Join us Sunday mornings for these great teachings from the Word.

Jr. Children’s Church

A special class is offered for the 2-6 year olds of Heritage during the worship service throughout the year. The class focuses on systematically teaching the children through God’s Word starting at Genesis and ending in Revelation. The children participate in Bible stories, songs, prayer, memory work, and the learning of godly disciplines.
