Reaching Out to Those in Need

About the Care Ministry at Heritage

“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” James 1:27

The Care Ministry reaches out to those in need by making personal visits and calls, by sending letters of encouragement, through intercessory prayer, and by helping meet the practical and physical needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ as unto the Lord Himself. 

CARING FOR THE BODY
Throughout the pages of Scripture, we see the high calling that believers have to minister to those of their brethren in need. We read of the command to love others as we do ourselves, support the weak, bear one another’s burdens, pray for one another, comfort one another, and visit the orphans and widows. Believers are called to care for one another.

The Care Ministry at Heritage seeks to obediently fulfill these commands of God as we reach out and minister to those in need at Heritage and their families. There are many among our church family who are sick, hurting, going through trials, and caring for sick loved ones. Our desire is to come alongside these people and minister the love of our Lord Jesus Christ to them.

MEETING THE NEEDS
Through the Care Ministry, we strive to meet the needs of our fellowship by…
• Praying for the needs of our body.
• Making calls of encouragement.
• Writing cards and letters to bless those in need.
• Visiting those who simply want someone to talk with, or are sick and in the hospital.
• Serving those in need: by giving rides to doctor visits, helping with house cleaning and yard work, etc…

YOUR INVOLVEMENT
If you know someone in need, or are in need yourself, please contact the church office. We desire to reach out and show the love of God to those who are hurting.

If you would like to be involved with the Care Ministry at Heritage, please refer to the contact information below. Those on the Care Team receive emails with prayer requests, updates, contact information, and visiting information. The Care Team also receives a monthly list of those in need and meets together bi-annually to encourage and exhort one another.
